The only good thing about winter is the clothes, right? I’m trying to keep mine popping by adding a few statement pieces in some earth tones.
This winter, I have had my heart set on not wearing dull colours; I know the weather is miserable but it doesn’t mean I have to look miserable – you feel me? Now although this outfit isn’t screaming colour like Portobello Road, it still experiments with colour in an autumnal setting. Earth tones have been worn all year round, especially nude and it’s still going strong – definitely what my winter wardrobe needs.
How do you detect an earth tone colour, I hear you say? When I think of earth tones, I think of different tones in leaves I guess, you get the dark olive green leaves, then there’s the tanned leaves and then the occasional reddish, brown almost burgundy ones and so on. If all that fails, just get your Mum’s/Nan’s old photo albums out, the sofa, carpet and wallpaper should give you some colour inspiration.

We experimented with shooting at night in for the first time, which made it harder to pick pictures for this post. I’m not really a fan of using the flash normally but it was completely necessary, it’s still early days and I’m still learning loads so bear with me.
