Chunky knits are the life and party of AW16, I’ve been on the hunt for the best ones and for the best prices – even if it were by coincidence.
I have long list of tabs on my laptop, all with potential roll necks and chunky knit jumpers in the basket that I’m hoping Santa will somehow see and they’ll appear under my tree on the 25th. I mentioned in a previous post that I love white in the winter, there’s something so festive about it.
I was in Asda, getting the ingredients for my chocolate orange muffins, having a “peak” at Christmas pyjamas when I spotted this cream, cold shoulder, chunky knit jumper and the pyjamas were forgotten about. Quite literally. The next steps were the mad dash to locate the rest of them and make sure no one grabs my size, cos you know, we don’t want the vaseline to come out.
Located the last one in my size and I was on a roll, eventually I got to the check out and paid with my apple pay (yes, I’m one of those people) for the self checkout screen to read “declined”. Confused, I waited for the assistant to tell me what the fuck was going on. “I’m a strong, independent, broke woman, I can afford George clothing for God’s sake” is something I may or may not have said to her. She replied, “You paid with apple pay, your shopping exceeds the limit… Just use your bank card.” Jeez, who rattled her cage? I nodded anyway, knowing full well I didn’t have my bank card, my premeditated mantra to avoid over spending, after all I was only there for flour and some oranges. I prepared for the big farewell, then the inner me whispered “two separate transactions, duh.”
Moral of the story is, if the item is causing you too much drama and you still want it, that item is for you!
