Something light & refreshing…


Spring is approaching and how better way to celebrate it than with a chilled, flavourful water?  If you’re like me, want to drink something healthy like water but need some flavour look no further!

I’ve looked up many ways to create a homemade flavoured water but decided to make mine up as I went along and it came out pretty great, in fact it was probably the best I had, and I believe it was down to one key ingredient: honey.  If you have honey, you can throw in any fruit you like, I can guarantee you, IT WILL BE LUSH!

Obviously, a banana is something I probably wouldn’t add but I’m sure anything goes, for example a lot of people like: strawberries, cucumber and mint.  But in this case, I went for the more is definitely less strategy, and why not, right?


Here I’ve used random fridge stuff:

  • A handful of strawberries
  • A handful of grapes
  • 1 orange
  • 2 inches of a ginger stick
  • a quarter of a whole cucumber
  • A slice of pineapple
  • a heaped tablespoon of HONEY
  • Boiled water

After chopping up my ingredients, I then add them to a serving jug or any large container that can be closed, securely.  I then drizzle on the honey and pour boiled hot water until the container is full, stir  and leave to “mature” in the fridge and let those flavours embed themselves into the water and leave overnight.  Then BOOM, natural flavoured water that tastes amazing!

* To keep your drink extra cold, pour some of the mixture into an ice cube container and freeze.  It’ll keep your drink cold without losing the flavour.
